So, I went to Year End Crazy Sale at Senayan City this afternoon, and bring these babies home!

And to add more craziness, I even bought two pairs of same shoes model, they're just different in color, hahaha. I bought two wedges, one is pink and another is green. The last one is a oxford-look-alike shoes with some small studs on the front. Actually I wanted to buy the plain one, unfortunately, the quality is poor. :(

And what's more crazy? I only spent Rp 148.500 for them!

A Trip to Pasar Senen

So, last Monday I went to Pasar Senen with my friend Renninta (aka Ibab). It has been so long since I crave for going to Senen and have shopping therapy. You know, I am a no.1 fan of Thrifty-things! It's in my blood :p

So, I carried about Rp 120.000,- (± US$13) and went by Kopaja hihihi. Then, after being in 'sauna' for ±2.5 hours, we went home, satisfied. Then after arriving at Renninta's, we started to count for our expenses and tried some of the clothes. So, here is my shopping check list:

It's so simple and not a plenty right? :p Though I ended up bring these home:

A pair of Korean made fabric pants - baggy one cost me Rp 20.000,-

Woohoo! I was on ON|OFF ID last Saturday (Dec 3rd, 2011) at Epicentrum Walk. I went with my friend; Brian (@brianardianto) and we both got the free pass from another friend; Yam. So, since we got the CREW pass, we couldn't get the goodie bag. Sad, but we got other goodie bags and merchandises from booths like VOA, LINTAS.ME, US Embassy, Coins fro Chance, etc. We ended up bringing 3-4 bags! My friend; Brian, is such a lucky guy, if you haven't know, he's always lucky especially when it comes to quiz and challenges. Unfortunately, he couldn't win the Acer Iconia Tablet, instead, he won USB Flashdisk from US Embassy on the photo contest. Overall, this event is not really crowded, I came at 2 pm and stayed until 7 pm. It was not as crowded as the last year's event, anyway. Huhu. Anyway, here is my outfit there, a little bit boring anyway ^^

Internship Fashion Diary: Day #1

Hi all! I'm so glad to post here again. Hoho, so long since the last time I posted some of my photoshoots in my hometown, eh? Just a few days ago, I started doing internship again. This time my position is the translator of the documents needed for the company's subsidiary. My job desks are translating the English documents into Indonesia since the company wants to create bilingual documents and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for its subsidiary and reformatting the SOP into the relevant one according to the template which is already available.

On my other blog, I'm creating posts about my days doing internship in Bahasa Indonesia, while here, I would like to post only focusing on my outfit and other things that catch my eyes. So please enjoy my internship fashion diary!

This outfit is not fully taken since I was thinking about creating fashion diary after I'm home. Hehe. So, I was wearing black shirt under the cropped flowery top and Mango Suit's skirt. I bought the cropped top only for Rp 1.000,- (currency for $1 = Rp 9.174,31193 from Google) at Pasar Senen. The fabric doesn't absorb the sweat, making uncomfortable wearing it under the heat. Fortunately, I'm wearing it in my air-conditioned office. What I love the most from my today's outfit is my skirt. I bought it about 4 months ago at Storge; a factory outlet which sold branded items with lower price (export scrap, last season items, reject products) in Pasar Festival. I got this for Rp 150.000,-. It can be considered as one of my most expensive fashion items since I prefer shopping at thrift market. But I love it, I fell in love from the first time I saw it, making me lose myself despite of the expensive-for-me price. Hahaha. I love the color and the fabric anyway, it's quite thick and the pocket on the both sides of it makes it become more dependable since I can put my cell phone there without creating such attention-seeker (what I'm trying to say is I always afraid to put my cell phone on my bottom pocket since I'm afraid of being robbed, yeah Jakarta is scary :p)

So, that's it for my first day's outfit, wait for the next! :D

When I'm Home..

So, during July-September 2011, I spend my time in my hometown; Palembang. It's not a pure holiday, though. I was doing my internship there in one of the companies there. Kill two birds with one stone, eh? :D

Anyway, It was so tiring doing the internship since I was replacing the permanent staff who was leaving during my period of internship. A lot of filings, writing, and fax-ing. I think I can open my own photocopy store, thanks to those works. ;)

Though I was so busy with my internship, as usual, I will never forget to take some fashion shots in Palembang whenever I'm home. Here is some of them, taken by my friend and of course it was taken in my home's backyard :D

Some of my friends said my expression look authentic and this pic reminds them of their mommas -_- (look vintage, eh?)

Somethings are different in this photoshoots. I was trying something new, like serious face mimic and trying to look (oh no) sexy. Hahahaha, please don't puke after looking at above pictures. I'm just an amateur. By the way, white shirt wore by me on the last pic is my own DIY shirt (it's Topshop anyway), I put some spikes and chains, and cut off some parts of it, and VOILA..! Hope you like it, I'll post the tutorial, maybe... Sometime :D

Jakarta Fashion Week 2010/2011 Day 2: Weekend of Surprise

Pada hari kedua JFW 2010/2011 ini saya sengaja datang pada show Oscar Lawalata, a prodigy in Indonesian fashion world. Di fashion show bertema Weaving Culture ini Oscar berkolaborasi dengan Laura Miles, seorang desainer tekstil asal Inggris yang pernah bekerja sama dengan Calvin Klein, Chanel, Donna Karan, dan sebagainya. Mereka dipertemukan oleh British Council pada ajang International Young Creative Entrepreneur (IYCE) Fashion Award 2009.

Awalnya, Laura Miles yang merupakan desainer tekstil Proyek Weaving The Future yang dicita-citakan Oscar untuk membawa pengrajin tenun Tanah Air mencapai kesejahteraan hidup lebih baik berhasil membawanya sebagai pemenang pada ajang tersebut. Kemenangan Oscar menjadi jawaban sempurna bagi kecintaan Laura terhadap tekstil buatan tangan.

Kerjasama antara Oscar Lawalata dan Laura Miles terjadi saat mereka melakukan perjalanan selama sepuluh hari ke Garut, Jawa Barat dan Nusa Tenggara Timur. Dari sinilah mereka berdua menyerap begitu banyak hal yang menjadi alas pemikiran untuk menciptakan hal-hal yang dapat membantu para penenun untuk menghasilkan karya yang berkualitas.

Kain tenun Garut dan Nusa Tenggara Timur dieksplor oleh keduanya lewat beragam gaya, di antaranya one shoulder dress, maxi dress, rok, maupun atasan (blus) . Varian warna yang ada pun sangat memikat, seperti merah, hijau tosca, dan oranye.

IMHO, desain Oscar untuk Weaving Culture secara keseluruhan didominasi oleh simple cutting dengan potongan longgar yang dipercantik dengan detail lipit, drapery dan juga layering. Yang patut diacungi jempol adalah bagaimana Oscar membuat kain-kain tenun tradisional menjadi sangat modern dengan potongan yang simpel tadi. Corak yang kaya tentu akan terlihat berlebihan bila dipadukan dengan cutting yang rumit, standing applause for Oscar Lawalata!

Jakarta Fashion Week 2010/2011 Day 3: Beautiful Indonesia on Batik

Terinspirasi oleh kekayaan budaya Indonesia, "The Power of Indonesian Batik" menjadi tema yang diusung oleh desainer Dee Ong dalam koleksi Batik 118nya dalam JFW 2010/2011 kali ini. Koleksi gaun-gaun batik oleh Dee Ong terbuat dari bahan sutera Cina yang diproses dengan membatik tulis, cap, maupun kombinasi. Selain itu, koleksi Batik 118 juga diperkaya dengan bordir serta hiasan payet dan batu alam sehingga menambah nilai estetika di setiap piece karyanya.

Fashion show terbagi dalam empat sesi. Sesi pertama menampilkan gaun batik dari Sumatera dengan ciri khas motif unggas dan bunga. Sesi kedua menampilkan batik dari Jawa dan Nusa Tenggara. Sesi ketiga dari Kalimantan dengan motif burung dan ornamen rumah adat setempat. Diakhiri dengan gaun batik dari Sulawesi, Maluku, dan Papua. Setiap koleksi yang ditampilkan per sesi menonjolkan ciri khas motif batik daerah masing-masing, seperti melihat Indonesia dalam batik!

Koleksi yang ditampilkan pun tergolong ready to wear dan bervariasi, baik cocktail dress maupun long dress. Potongan dress pun sederhana dan tidak terlalu rumit, namun tetap terlihat cantik karena motif batik yang ada sudah sangat glamor. Bravo untuk Dee Ong yang walaupun tidak pernah menjalani pendidikan formal dalam bidang fashion namun mampu menampilkan karya yang terlihat cantik tanpa harus terlihat berlebihan!

Jangan lupa bahwa ternyata ada karya finale dari Dee Ong berupa gaun kombinasi brokat, renda, dan payet indah berwarna putih yang sangat menawan. I really adore this! Gaun berbuntut ini benar-benar indah walau tanpa unsur batik sekalipun.

Untuk hari ketiga jfw 2010/2011, memang bisa dikatakan bahwa inilah harinya Batik dan Tenun. Selain Dee Ong, ada Dekranasda Show dan Cita Swarna Bumi Sriwijaya (Oh I remember my hometown!) yang menampilkan beragam karya batik dan kain tenun. Sesuai tema JFW tahun ini: Styling Modernity, menurut saya show hari ini sangat mewakili tema. Hal ini karena dengan memakai kain tradisional, karya-karya desainer yang tampil tetap terlihat chic dan modern, bahkan jauh dari kesan kuno dan ketinggalan jaman. Dan tentunya, membuat kita sebagai warga Indonesia bangga akan kekayaan budaya yang berlimpah dan terus berupaya menjaga kelestariannya, salah satunya dengan event seperti Jakarta Fashion Week. Ah, after 3 days of JFW, I just can't wait for tomorrow's show! See ya!

Kemarin adalah hari Sabtu, 6 November 2010 yang sekaligus merupakan hari pertama dari Jakarta Fashion Week 2010/2011! Karena sangat excited, walau tidak dapat masuk dan melihat Opening Show JFW 2010/2011, saya menyempatkan diri untuk pergi ke Pacific Place untuk melihat crowdsnya.

Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW), acara yang ditunggu-tunggu para penikmat mode Indonesia akan kembali digelar. Tema yang diusung JFW 2010/2011 adalah Styling Modernity.

Mengapa modernitas? Karena karya-karya yang akan ditampilkan baik busana muslim, etnik, hingga kontemporer diharapkan bisa menimbulkan kesan kekinian alias modern. Jadi, Anda bisa melihat karya perancang Indonesia yang menjadikan kain nusantara seperti batik, tenun, songket dan lainnya menjadi sebuah busana dengan model yang lebih modern. Tentu saja ini diharapkan bisa menjadi acuan bagi pecinta mode dan masyarakat luas untuk tampil lebih modern penuh cita rasa di era fashionable yang serba maju seperti saat ini.

Dan lebih serunya lagi, jumlah desainer yang telah terdaftar akan mengadakan fashion show di Jakarta fashion Week ini sudah mencapai angka ratusan! tepatnya ada 1123 desainer yang akan hadir menyajikan kreasi rancangan terkini mereka.

Dalam JFW kali ini juga akan ada peragaan khusus merayakan 30 tahun berkarya, perancang senior Indonesia, Ghea Pangabean. Perancang yang satu ini memang selalu menampilkan ciri khas Indonesia melalui rancangan-rancangan beliau.

Untuk para pencinta aksesoris, kalian juga wajib datang ke JFW 10/11. Soalnya, bakal ada final Lomba Perancang Aksesori (LPA) 2010. Jadi, kita bisa melihat karya-karya sepuluh finalis LPA yang disaring dari berbagai provinsi di Indonesia.

Buat para fashion bloggers, siapkan dirimu untuk menjepret berbagai gaya dari setiap orang yang hadir karena tentunya seperti JFW tahun-tahun sebelumnya, banyak fashion blogger terkenal seperti Diana Rikasari yang hadir di JFW.

A Visit from a Cousin

I just took some random shots, the my cousins, Man, suddenly came by. Then, when he saw me with this camera -Yashica 35-ME- he was very excited and asked me to take a pic of him (a fashion pic). So I just took these 3 shots, with my handmade pixelated necklace (you can buy it here: CreaShion). My cousin is a fashion-conscious, though. Any comments? :)

While browsing at ModCloth, I found two pairs of boots which are very eye-catchy. Looks like Doctor Marten's one, but with patterns. Flowery pattern, exactly. They are Jeffrey Campbell's, anyway.

I will give them a comfortable closet to rest in, and a gentle cleaning when they need it. And now, beautifully bold, gorgeously on-trend, grunge-inspired boots, with this pending debit card transaction, I thee wed.

Gossip Girl: Leighton Meester and his Boyfriend; Sebastian Stan

Today, I just opened Popsugar and look at this news. Leighton Meester and his boyfriend, Sebastian Stan in Parsons Fashion Benefit party in NYC. She, as usually, looks reallly stunning with her white dress, but not with her boyfriend. He's handsome, naturally. But in this picture, he looks bad. His hair are too long, but he insisted to look dandy, by pulled all of his hair back. Trashy, I think. Leighton is so much better with Ed Westwick I think. But, in the real world, who knows? In the drama, maybe Blair Waldorf is really into Chuck Bass, but in the real world, Blair prefers Carter. :(

Try This when You're Bored

After long hours in campus, me and my friend, Dezca decided to do some crazy things. Not realy crazy, though. I picked up a blue-black (hahaha, like hair color) blazer and some braided- wool thread from my mom and made it into headband ;p. Then, I asked Dezca to took a pic of me. I also changed my shoes to Lily sandals (do you familiar with that? Asked your grandparents, maybe they know that. :p) from my uncle in Kalianda. Not bad I think, but what about you?

Sunday Evening Parade

Hello all.

Now, I would like to tell you about my last Sunday evening in PPHUI (Pusat Perfilman Haji Umar Ismail). My brother invited me to watch his band performance there. But, because my laziness, me and my friends decided to come ver, very late. We made the appointment at 12 pm, and we showed up at 3 pm. :D So, we missed the performance and watched "Generasi Biru" for free there! Although we came in the last 15 minutes of the movie, we enjoyed that. OK, let's talk about my outfit at that time.

Old Days: Thrift Shop Fever

After the craziness of my midterm result, I decided to entertain myself by looking at some old pics (crazy pics I mean). Those are the pics we made when we were still goin' crazy with that thrift-shopping fever (yeah, me and my crazy fellas). Actually, at that time we found that the shop was having the new collection for party dresses. Some of those dresses are pretty fabulous, I think, but, still, the prices are very, very, very UNREASONABLE for secondhand clothes. They charged IDR 90,000 for each clothes. Maybe some of you think that it's cheap, but for me it's not cheap enough. Then, because we were loyal customers at that time -every time we went shopping there, we buy 3-5 clothes per person-, they had no problem with us, trying as many dress as we want. Crazy. Really, we went crazy at that time. So I put on about 5 clothes and found out that only 2 clothes suited me best. I put on the pics here! Please drop comments...

recommended: Roiworld

Recently, I have been visiting this cool site; Roiworld. This site is really both cute and cool, really into the fashionable and stylish. I’ve known this site since I was in the Senior High, but unfortunately, during my first semester in college, they updated the site and I can’t open it. So, I am so happy to know that now, this site is opened again! Actually, Roiworld now collaborating with another company (which I think is Lifetime; you can see it on the bottom of the page).

I really love to reunite again with my no. 1 dress-up games’ website, but I do not really like the doll now. The old dolls are just more beautiful and unique. Then, I also do not really like the layout of the games. Now, the size of the game is smaller than before, and of course I ‘m not comfortable with it. But, there is always a good news girls, I like the language now, long time ago, Roiworld was only available in Korean, that’s my biggest problem at that time. I don’t understand the language, so I can’t join the “Challenge”. Anyway, “Challenge” is the term in Roiworld that allows the member of it to join the contest and being voted by other members there. I love that feature, so much.

Looks like I 'll have my first sale next month.

Yesterday, I just saw an announcement of Accounting Fair in my campus. Actually, there will be a bazaar for three days. And the registration for the bazaar is 100,000 IDR for three days. Hopefully, there will be a lot of participants from other universities or colleges, so that I can participate in the bazaar successfully.

I'll tell you about the decision later on.
